🔒 Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Welcome to Whitelo! This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information related to your use of the app.

Whitelo offers free drawing, practice challenges, pixel art, export, and sharing. The app is currently iOS only. Core creation and browsing work without an account or sign-in. Except for the system capabilities and optional network scenarios described below, your creative content stays on your device.

2. Information Collection

2.1 Information We Do Not Collect on Our Servers

For services we operate ourselves, Whitelo does not collect, aggregate, or use for profiling:

• Personal identity information (name, age, gender, etc.)
• Contact information (email, phone number, address, etc.)
• Device identifiers or IP trails centralized on servers we operate
• Location information (GPS, geolocation, etc.)
• Contacts or address book information
• Usage statistics, analytics, or profiling data for marketing or cross-app tracking
• Crash or diagnostic data collected through services we operate

We do not require account registration and do not ask for the above information in the app for marketing purposes.

2.2 Locally Stored Data

The app stores the following data only on your device to provide features. We do not upload this data to servers we operate:

• Canvases and strokes: stroke data, canvas list, update times, etc.
• Practice progress: completion status, history artworks, etc.
• App settings: appearance (light/dark/system), sound effects, pixel guides, reminder toggle, etc.
• Reminder schedule: whether daily reminders are enabled and local scheduling info (delivered via iOS local notifications, not our push servers)
• Prompt frequency flags: local markers such as whether a rating or notification prompt was shown
• Export and share temp files: temporary files when generating images/videos or sharing the app, used by the system share sheet; not uploaded to our servers

This data lives in the app sandbox (e.g., local database, system preferences) to restore your work and settings on your device.

3. How We Use Information

Local data is used only to:

• Display, edit, and replay your artworks on device
• Save practice progress and history
• Remember your settings and reminder preferences
• Show in-app guidance at appropriate times (e.g., local reminders, optional rating prompts)

We do not use your artworks or local settings for ad profiling, sell them to data brokers, or send marketing emails/SMS (the app does not collect such contact details).

4. Third-Party and System Services

Whitelo does not integrate ad SDKs, third-party analytics, social login, or our own cloud sync.

The following are provided by the operating system or Apple and may apply only when you actively use related features. Processing is governed by each platform’s policies:

• System share sheet: when exporting images/videos or recommending the app, you choose to save to Photos or share to another app; the destination app’s policy then applies
• App Store / ratings: “Rate the app” or App Store links in sharing may open Apple’s store; Apple handles that access
• Local notifications: with “Daily reminders” enabled, alerts are triggered by iOS locally, not via our push servers
• AirPrint: if you print via the system share sheet, the system print service handles it

4.1 On-Device Media Processing (Export)

If you use export image or stroke replay video:

• Encoding and compositing happen on your device
• We do not send artworks to our servers for transcoding
• Results can be saved locally or passed through the system share sheet; any upload to other services is your choice

5. Network

Core drawing, browsing local artworks, practice, and pixel art work without a network connection. These scenarios may need network or system services (actual behavior depends on device and OS):

• Opening App Store links (e.g., rate the app, app download link when sharing)
• Sharing artworks to third-party apps that require connectivity

In-app fonts (Outfit, Fredoka) are bundled in the app. Normal UI text does not require downloading fonts from the internet.

6. Data Security

• Creative data is stored primarily on device, protected by the iOS app sandbox
• Standard system storage (e.g., local database, UserDefaults / SharedPreferences)
• After uninstall, local data in the app sandbox is typically removed by the system

7. Permissions

Whitelo may request or use the following permissions when relevant (as shown by the system):

• Notifications (optional): only if you enable “Daily reminders”; you can turn this off in Settings
• Save to Photos (optional): when saving via the share sheet, the system may prompt for photo library access (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription in Info.plist)

For core features, the app does not request:

• Location
• Camera
• Microphone
• Contacts
• Photo library read access (unless the system prompts for “Save to Photos”)
• App Tracking Transparency (ATT) for cross-app ad tracking

8. Data Deletion

You can manage or delete data at any time:

• Delete a canvas: in “My Artworks”, delete the item
• Clear strokes: use Clear on the canvas (wording may vary in the app)
• Full removal: uninstalling deletes local data stored by the app

Deleted local data usually cannot be restored by us. If you saved exports to Photos or shared to other apps, manage them in those locations separately.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our Support page or at this URL. Material changes to data practices will be communicated reasonably (e.g., in-app notice or App Store release notes).

Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.

10. Applicable Law and Your Rights

This policy is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. We comply with applicable personal information and network security regulations (including the Personal Information Protection Law of the PRC where relevant).

Where applicable law grants rights such as access, correction, or deletion, you can exercise most control by managing on-device data, system permissions, and uninstalling the app. Contact us below with questions.
